I have recently heard that PERL and Oracle works together in some way but I have no idea how. We use Oracle here at work, and I am trying to create some kind of code that will allow me to pull information from our system but I have no idea where to start.
What we have now:
A website we go to, enter our user id/pw, a little criteria (customer name, warehouse) ect. and when we submit it, I then get a report in word that allows me to fax each of our vendors requests for information. I spoke with the person that actually programmed this, wanting to change a few things and he's too busy. I would love to come up with something that would impress my boss
Is this something I can do, or no?

I would say it is viable that you can do this yes. I wouldn't particularly know how to do that much myself as i'm just a beginner. But I'd say it can be done. You'd have to show us some of your code before we could help you properly though.
