Microsoft Windows Start Menu & Taskbar ?

I want to create a website with this in mind. This, being a start menu and taskbar similar to the one that microsoft offers in windows (preferrably windows XP)... I have asked and asked and the few answer I get are "that's very technical stuff", "try javascript", "try visual basic".

I'm not familiar with java or visual basic, as a matter of fact- I only know html to an extent (thank god for DREAMWEAVER!)

so are there any people here that might know how to do this? if so: is it hard? is visual basic the way to go? is javascript the way to go?

but the most dearest question of all: will u supply me with the code? lol.

seriously, can anyone help me?

thank you!

peace,

Seems hard what you want to do... I agree with Fritz if you know Flash it could be easier and better looking done in flash. If you can't do it ask an expert maybe you would pay for a layout. Also to briangarcia your message is really messed up... You say your websites your email and your email is your website and your phone number is messed and its weird... Do you know English or was that a joke?

As far as my research goes, a lot of people have done similar windows-start type menu items using java script or java applets. I'm still figuring out if this can be done easily using ASP.Net. Lot of free java code along with the source code is available on the web. Following are some sites to look at:

http://javaboutique.internet.com/desktop/

http://javaboutique.internet.com/cathome.html

http://www.freesitetemplates.com/

search on google for "windows start button applet", etc
