1. Frictionless engine (no heat... waste of energy), no moving parts.

2. Killer Data encryption. Think of possiblities of having killer encryption... Can you imagine broadband speed over a standard telephone wire? Not talking fiber optic here.

Who ever invents either of these will instantly become the richest person in the world.

Thoughts?

Just write an algorithm that does simultaneous encrypting, signing and integrity protection with asymmetric key technology and symmetric key speed
You might not get too rich because patenting algorithms is not easy but at least you'd be famous (well famous in the small community of cryptographers...)

Chaos reigns within - Reflect, repent, and reboot - Order shall return

What does Killer Data Encryption have to do with speed of transfering data?

might have ment compression... thats my only thought.

But how about successfully implimenting a fast Quantum computer, with a large register (more then the 'current' 3bit), I'm sure that'll be great, though it would destroy so much.

Quantum computers can perform factorization on a polynomial speed, thus RSA is dead, well, you just increase the size of the primes, larger then an existing register size of a quantum computer. Or use Quantum Cryptography, I beleive you can buy a quantum key encryption system for 100,000$ or so. Not sure the maturity of the system though. It does this by measuring error rates, increased error means a person is listening on the channel.
