I'd have to say mine would be either The Shining, IT or Wrong Turn...I first watched the Shining when I was little, so it was really scary, but not soo much anymore o_O

i read the IT..it was spooky as hell, but still worth reading. i couldnt put the book down.
i dont really watch horrors anymore, tho ones with spiders in it always make me cringe. i did see arachnophobia..once...
and i know avondale spiders are harmless, so it wasnt too bad to watch. but still..spiders..ugh...

I thought that "The Omen" and "The Exorcist" were scary at the time I had watched it. Very disturbing movies. :-o

The Exorcist was scary. I wasn't scared when I saw it for the first time, but the second time I was. I remember being scared to sleep alone after watching the movie.

There was one more movie where a evil spirit takes away a small girl to a room in the house and her mother rescues her. I don't remember the name of the movie.

I dont remember Evil dead, I saw it when I was a very young. It is supposed to be very scary, isn't it?

I was very young when I saw both of these movies, and I didn't quite understand it. And the most disturbing thing is they used a child who played the evil incarnate (Omen) or the possessed girl (Exorcist).

The sequels of both movies weren't so scary.

i saw both shows of the exorcist..
it was pretty scary, but hte new release they did a couple of years ago, for the anniversay, i watched that, but it wasnt scary at all.

the omen i thought was tame compared to the exorcist.

The Omen I have found to be bad filming, maybe it was just the DVD...or maybe I got it confused with another movie lol, been renting lots of movies lately, half of them cheap films.

the latest ones they have no "the good son" and another one they did which had one sibling being good and the other one wasnt..i would compare them to the omen. i suppose at that time, having a child who could be a real evil little git, supposedly a son of a devil, could be considered scary. alot of kids these days are like that now anyway!.

The Good Son was a good movie, I watched it because of Elijah Wood, but it was still a good movie, maybe I should re-watch the omen.

hmm depends on the definition of scary, I define scary as something that makes your heartbeat, hands sweat, and the overall feeling of fear for your own life...ok im not really a scary movie buff but the ones that "scare" me the most are the ones where characters randomly pop up. I.e. like in the sixth sense when the cop pulls out the flare out of nowhere..yeah it wasn't supposed to be "scary" but it made my heart and body jump like a jackrabbit..but the funny thing is i dont think that movie was scary at all...really smart but not scary. When people bleed out of the wrists/hands like in stigmata...now that's scary

stigmata , or the effects of stigmata has been around for years.
that doesnt scare me. to see someone bleeding in an accident and not moving in real life?..now thats scary. to see a car literally wrapped around a tree and they working flat out to open it up to get at the driver?..now thats scary.
i decided ages ago, that only real life incidents are scary. the rest is just up to a vivid imagination.
as to making me jump in a movie, well i find some thrillers are like that..or some really good car chases..they not scary, but they do get my blood racing watching them sometimes.

my 1c worth

One that makes you jump, I saw Taking Lives last night, not the scariest movie, put things pop out of nowhere quite a bit.

What I find frightening to see is a double or wraith or whatever you call it, of person who die at that very instance (or about to die).

Have anyone seen the X-File? It was something like that. A person was either dying or have just die, and the apparition just appeared briefly to another person. If I saw something like that in real life, I would have totally freaked out. :-o

there used to be a set of books out some years ago, called the unexplained.
this kinda thing happens alot tho.
a cousin saw her husband when he was miles away in a car accident..and when the police arrived, she already knew he'd died cause she saw him.

its not possible i know, but it happens.
