I'm a high school student who has just been introduced into the mac world and blown away. I mean, I bought an old mac from 1996 and it impresses me more than my newer windows pc my mom and dad got in 2001. So back to the subject, like i said, I'm a student, so of course i have basically no money. Does anyone have a recommendation on how i can get the money to buy a mac or find an affordable mac. I've tried selling some stuff on e-bay, but so far that's going really slowly. Thanks for your time!

I still have 4 'old' macs (i.e. PowerComputing clones) laying around and they still work fine. I haven't installed OSX on them (I could), but I'm happy with OS8.6.

I guess if you want a newer Mac (a G3, G4), you could best try finding a good deal on eBay. Be very carefull though, there are quite a lot of scams, too cheap deals, and then they try to convince you to pay with Western Union/MoneyGram, and your money is gone, so, be careful!

Maybe you could ask your school if they have some sort of 'computer-funding-plan', you know, where your school lends you the money to get a decent computer (why not a Mac ).

And there's always Mum, Dad, Grannies, other relatives, who might help you with funding, even if it's a loan, that's how I got my first computer, just lended the money from an Auntie.

Good luck (and don't give up, waiting a bit for a really good computer beats spending less on a Windoze-Box and being frustrated all the time ) !!!
