Well its been an exciting season for Apple enthusiasts.
First we get the G5, the first comercial 64bit processor that blows any PC out of the water. And when you buy one of those beauties, you dont just get one, you get two. How can you resist?
Next we get theiBook G4. Doesnt seem like much, but a laptop with that kind of power for only $1099. But thats not the big deal here, it means that a G5 powerbook is not far off...
And most recent, Apple released its updated Operating system, Panther. 10.3. It makes XP look like shit and runs like a dream. Can you say stable?
Make the Switch Today

Or do you mac haters have any better idea?

More good news for Mac-fans:

Virginia Tech have ordered 1100 G5's (Dual Processor, 2 GHz) to build a supercomputer(cluster) that will probably make it into the Top 5 of current supercomputers.

That cluster made number 3. And they are updating their cluster to Xserves, so it will take up less space, or something. I want to know if they will be selling off the old G5s. *cha-ching!* And yes, panther is stable. I am running it now, and in over a week of having it, there has not been a single crash. At all. Of any sort.
One more thing about that cluster. It is the fastest university supercomputer on the planet.

As for the top 500 supercomputers thing, I think it was the earth simulator computer, (#1 on the planet), that is only one node out of an eventual 300, or something. It will rock when it is finished.
