Greetings,

I happened upon your site while looking for tutorials on how to build and use php classes.

I went to your tutorials page and there was a garish flashing tower banner in the left column. Please, please, please be considerate of visitors that may be physically affected by that sort of banner. In addition to the affects on folks who suffer from migraines (like myself) or visitors with epilepsy - the banner is so incredibly distracting that the visitor cannot focus on the on article for more than a few seconds.

I tried to find a contact email on your site to make this suggestion to you. I am a site owner myself and would welcome such information. Not finding one I came to your forum - only to see the guest visitor being labeled as an "anonymous coward". Not wanting that - I registered.

Whew!!! I just wanted to read a tutorial - then I just wanted to be courteous and let you know that one of your advertisers may be driving visitors away. So now I am a registered user but it's not for your wonderful content (which I haven't gotten to read yet) but because I felt steered here by non content factors of your site - which is totally the wrong reason.

Well, I'll leave the "anonymous coward" issue to theo but what I can say is that the advertisements are not under our control as they're picked randomly per-client, maybe you should take your health complaint to the advertisement company because we have no authority in this matter.

Please don't take my post as an utter slam.

I am always looking for sites to learn on and as this forum was for suggestions - it seemed like the place to post issues that make your site uncomfortable to use.

I apologize if my post was offensive.

Hmm. We can turn them off, but have to through ~200 banners to find the bad ones.. hehe. They were earning almost nothing, I had been considering taking off the whole thing - so I've done that - instead I've made the text-only Google ads bigger.
