Why?

A signature with more lines in than you post is as lame as it comes.

...like Marvin Gaye, only blacker.

I say no! Farley just wants to use it to spam anyway.

I like the sigs how they are. In fact, less chars should be allowed! look at farley's sig being 4 lines already... and that's without linebreaks.

Sigs should be displayed in a smaller font!!! and less dark, maybe a dark grey. Like the forum code text/help when posting.

i recently added a signature option to my forums, and it will let you enter a really long signature (i'm not sure i put a limit on it). it only shows about 3 lines before putting a vertical scroll bar on it though, and it's also in smaller text than the actual post

absolutely not, the last thing we need are sigs longer than the posts.

Here's a coupon for a punch to the face.

I've made the signatures smaller and a softer colour. Also, for those using a browser that uses some recent form of CSS (like Firefox), signatures will show scrollbars when over about 3 lines (using max-height, which older browsers don't support).

However, because of some annoying possibilities I'm still not going to make signatures longer, have line breaks or links.. Maybe in the new forums Sorry Farley.
