CON, PRN, AUX, CLOCK$, NUL, COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4, COM5, COM6, COM7, COM8, COM9, LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, LPT4, LPT5, LPT6, LPT7, LPT8, and LPT9.

Try creating a folder or file with any of the names above.

It's fun!

Stick and Stones may break my bones but Caricatures will cause a riot!

that's more of a design flaw than a bug: any of those names actually refer to a device no matter where you reference them from, so things get confused if you give something else the same name.

this technique is actually used by people who put illegal files on poorly-protected ftp servers, possibly in an attempt to make it harder to delete.

Of what i read its used as DOS device names...i hear ppl creating those folders through DOS.....then they get a BSOD

It's not even a bug, its names that have been used within windows that it has restricted for obvious reasons.
