Working with premade Templates

Sometimes when I purchase a template I try to work with it and try to save some time. Yea right, I've been fudging with the HTML on this one for so long I think I'm starting to get gray hairs. Here is my problem:

http://www.schrockinnovations.com/testbed/new/index.html

As you can see, the bottom border under the "Innovations makes your computer work for you! " is missing the mark. Alone, as its own table, removing the <table> tags for the mainbottom.gif brings the image up where it should be but with the other tables its screws it all up. I have to bring it into the whole table and not just make it its own table but I'm getting frustrated.

Secondly, Why wont the Virus Alert image V Align upward in the table when I <td valign="top"> it? If I remove the Colspan="1" it does align upward but then I lose the BG.

I am about 5 minutes to just making a new format all by myself. Any help would...well help.

Some people get the Elevator while others get the shaft.
