Damn it I can't find an answer anywhere so I figured someone here could help me

So I'm making the second ver. of Battle

Battle ver. 1.0.0 was a bust I made it in C++ but there was only 1 battle and all you could do is attack and defend. And it was all in text.

So in my next ver. you can pick a char. to play as (thats already done) and I need to learn some more VB. What I want to know is how can I give an Item to a playar an item and it affects their stats (like a sword) or they can use it later (like a potion).

So if any1 has an answer reply

seems to me that you might want to make a couple interfaces and then build some classes to be more specific.

you might want to make a weapon interface, an armor interface, etc.
then you could make say a sword class that would implement the weapon interface, etc.

i forget how exactly to use interfaces in vb (since i never actually used it) but i know it can be done. if you give me more detail as to how you're coding this thing i can probably give you some more specific help . . .

all right I'll tell you how I'm coding it once I figure out how I'm doing it myself. I'm going to read some books and some on-line tuts.

You could just make a class for "generic" characters, weaons, armor, etc... and then write a method for the charactor class to equip stuff wich could would change the stats(str, spd, etc...) and then an un-equip method that reverts the stats to the pre-item state.

Uhhh. its a RPG based around battle tournements. You can fight monsters to level up or each other unofficialy I want to evetually put it on line but I'm far from that cause I'm still learnig VB so Later

i'd say remove the monsters and add something more original, monsters have been milked out since doom 1

What else is there left to lill everything has already been done.

Monsters, People, Computer viruses, Bugs(computer and nomr), gods, mythical creatures. and everything you can think of. So if you can come up with something original I will gladly accept it assuming it isn't something gay...
