Strange bootloader problem

I have a triple booting machine with Win XP Pro, Suse 9.2 Pro and CentOS 4.1.
A while back all the bootloaders worked fine, but now whenever I install grub or lilo they dont work. Grub will always freeze at "loading stage 2" and lilo just gives me a nice "L99 99 99 99...". Very annoying. This happens when I install them on the boot partition of each drive (sda1 for SuSE and hdb1 for CentOS). When I try to install Grub or Lilo in the MBR of hda (my main WinXP drive) all I get is a frozen computer when the bootloaders start to load. The only way I can boot linux is using gag (http://gag.sourceforge.net/). This allows me to boot WinXP when installed in the MBR. I can boot WinXP and CentOS when it is running from a floppy (weird), and I can only now run SuSE when I use the install CD to boot it (which takes time). Does anyone know what the hell is going on? This is VERY fustrating. |

Usually the solution to this problem is to install to the MBR (lilo -M /dev/drive). The "L" indicates a drive geometry problem (difference between LILO and BIOS records).
Your partitions are probably not defined correctly.
A guy gets on a bus and starts threatening everybody: "I'll integrate you! I'll differentiate you!!!" So everybody gets scared and runs away. Only one person stays. The guy comes up to him and says: "Aren't you scared, I'll integrate you, I'll differentiate you!!!" And the other guy says: "No, I am not scared, I am e to the power of x."
