Hi... That's a nice website. I like the layout. I really like the history page... it interesting to see how the site has changed overtime... I personally love just checking out various layouts so that really got me in. The random subject of oranges was a nice touch... gives the opportunity for some nice pictures to lighten up the page, and some random phrases.
The only problem I could see is the numerous images which could be a hassel for anyone on dial-up but it looks good with them so to anyone on dial-up the wait is worth it

I don't like it that much. At first glance, there are too many scrollbars, and frames are unnecessary. You could also have posted a direct link to your website rather than forcing everyone to refresh. The colours are a bit too... wild for my liking.
Other than that... not bad.

It's Funky (with a capital 'F'), but overuses frames and iframes
There's nothing wrong with frames, but you're pushing it a bit by cutting off the content with a frame Why not do something like use overflow:auto for that messagebox window, and break the rest of the site out of frames, or, at least, maybe leave the nav on a frame Do you want me to remake it? As a newer version which you can look at? |

I must add, you've definitely got some creative flair, evident from the site. I admire that

I was kind of expecting replies against the use of frames... but i don't see any major problems with them being used in this case... it looks good to me. Frames don't significantly slow down a page do they? of course there were a few minor cases where some things should fit better and not need scrolling but other than that I thought it was worth it.

OK, I've done a bit of work (trust me, it took a while) on something you might want to base your site on if you want it to me a bit more dynamic and less frames-overwhelmed.
I agree with you in that sense ic38, but for the benefit of the rest of humanity a) They confuse/trap search engine spiders etc b) It's a pain when it comes to a 'client' saving a page c) From the *developer's* point of view, there's too much content to edit. I'm sure its great to be able to scroll through stuff, but it really should have a limit somewhere To someone who is a 'noob' to most of the web, it would be confusing and 'all these scrollbars' would be misleading... although thankfully there are less and less of these 'noobs' see Daish.org @ Sedocity's Net... I've made a start on what I would suggest. I know, the table doesn't work properly in Mozilla yet, but all will work soon. Its past midnight, I'm going to bed! |

OK... done some more work on it. Loading times are dramatically reduced. I know the author will be really really annoyed at what I've done, building his site on his design again from scratch
Its not perfect, what I've done looks like crap in comparison to the real thing, but I've just started with the basics - i.e. the really simple stuff. There's no extra graphics, no extra headers in it yet (for example, one box missing is "The shout box" I hope my efforts can actually show you guys what I'd like to see.. I guess a picture tells a thousand words. Daish.org @ Sedocity's Net Now my alternate version works pixel for pixel in browsers like Mozilla. Thats a start. The original one was pretty good for intercompatibility though, frames are simple enough for most browsers /rant. |

Sedocity, that looks great in Internet Explorer, however looking at it in mozilla is still messed up....
Thanks for doing that I like what you've done... think it's inspired something for me... not too sure what it is yet but we'll see how we go :P

Don't you dare steal my CSS shadows, or I'll bite you or something...
Or hiss /me lunges at ic38. Muahaha, my CSS will be of little use to you anyway as it uses absolute positioning... Bwahaha. |

Yep, it works nicely in Mozilla and IE. Its so simple, its just four separate duplicate texts of the "NAVIGATION" div, just offset to the top-left, top-right, bottom-left and bottom-right. The z-index (or the "layer depth" /me cheers. I'm sure its been done before, but it just popped into my head. Notice the grey bit is an OUTLINE, it covers ALL edges of the text; there's more to it than just offset duplicated text if you want a different coloured outline (I guess, as opposed to 'shadow')... <unrant> |

wow lol thanks for all the feedback in the site. I have to say I appreciate all the time you put in remaking our site. The only thing is that people with 800x600 res would have to scroll horizontally. Besides that, your efforts at remaking the site are very flattering. I'm not versed in advanced css with all the overflows and such so I'm going to have to admit that I'm just a dude that wants to have a site that departs from the norm (excessive frames and all) and something that is different and fresh and new. I just hope that anyone who looks at the site doesn't immediately get turned off and doesn't check out what we have to offer. So yeah thanks again for remaking the site and the all feedback.

You're most welcome
Please, please can you change the link on your site to http://stratafortress.free2host.net/daish.htm I changed my shorturl preferences because the URL redirection (that uses frames... derr?) was killing IE6. IE wouldn't actually make the contents of the frame 'fluid', so it went all wonky with a little horizontal scrollbar to let you view the 16 pixels that it forced the vertical scrollbar into? Very confusing! Thanks! |
