Yeah... Coolfreepages seems fairly well rated outside of F2C but I've read a few posts here, where a lot of people were complaining about uptime/slow-servers/and pop-unders....

I've just found a host that seems totally free with php here mySQL etc... I uploaded some of my site and had loadsa problems with images not displaying etc (works fine on every other host)... But maybe someone else knows a bit more about them!!!

Are you sure you had all the image sources correct as in capitalization... some servers mess up with that....

I might try that one out later.

Yeah... That's always the first thing I always check!!! I'm wondering whether they don't like changing the size of images using html e.g. an image of 100px 100px being shrunk <img src="image.jpg" height="75" width="90" /> !!!

Apart from that netcessor seem okay... Pretty small and obviously need a lot of work with ftp (read their forums)!

linux and unix servers are case sensitive. i wouldn't say they 'mess up' though, since they're doing what you ask them to, there's just no file by that name. pages should really be coded with filenames in the proper case though because that works everywhere, and you'd have less problems when you realize that you should move to linux

Okay then, I'll tell you what... If anyone could have a look at my pages at netcessor and let me know what they think might be happening I would appreciate it...

Netcessor (some missing images) here

and

Spaceports (correct images) here

I know they have a different look as the netcessor site as this is where I'm trying out my new CSS scripts so the whole site isn't finished yet!!! And if you fancy commenting on anything else while you're there click here as I have an application for hosting open... But really, if anyone can see why certain images aren't showing in the netcessor site I would be very grateful!!!

the netcessor page says the server is win32, which means you don't need to worry about capitalization in filenames, though you still should

I like in principle to keep everything lowercase coz then whether its an image, file or html code you know that you're linking to exactly what you want...

The trouble is on my Netcessor Site there should be an image appearing to the right of the body text. If you right click you can view the image (which is a background image) but it won't view in the browser... Their are also a few images in the Biography page which don't show up... I've tried it in IE and Firebird and no joy!!! 8(

I'm sure it must be a basic error I have made but I can't see what... It all works fine when I test it on my own apache server... Hmmm... What can I try???

you can, but it's better not to. if you want to put a space in a url it's usually safer to put %20, which is the hex ascii code for a space.
