Help needed to stop me tearing my hair out!

Every so often my cordless microsoft mouse and keyboard seem to stop sending messages from some of the keys. If I left-click, I may have to do it 5 or 6 times for it to have the effect I want. The mouse will still move to exactly where I want it using the optical sensor, but why the button sometimes fails is a mystery. Any ideas?

i've had a few mice where the switches under the buttons stopped working correctly. you might be able to take apart the mouse and clean it, but you probably should just buy a new mouse.

my mind is like a steel trap! it only hangs on to the big stuff. visit my forums at track7.org

This may sound stupid, have you tried the batteries?
