Hi,
I was looking at upgrading my graphics card, but unfortunatly I found out my low end dell dimension p4 2400 comp only has pci slots. So after researching I found out these were the 2 best cards I could get, & I already have the 128 mg card. Is it worth while me dropping any $ on the 256mg version, and will I see any noticble improvement? These cards are also the only ones I think with the directx9 capibilty even though the games I try & play I still have to use directx7 to render or they would be unplayable. I have upgraded the mem to the capicity for this machine (2g) to see if that enabled me to use directx9 but it didnt. Thanks » Post edited 2006-05-27, 12:25am by 45King.

directx9 is backwards compatible with directx7.

In order to use Direct X 9, you would need a Direct X 9 compatible video card. All of the new cards are DX9 compliant. Upgrading your graphics card will make a noticable difference in gaming. I would recommend that you go for it =).
